Hong Kong's healthcare system is moving towards prevention and primary care to meet the complex needs of an aging population. Chiropractors are well positioned to support prevention-focused strategies through early detection of musculoskeletal problems, risk reduction and promotion of healthy lifestyles. This article examines how chiropractors' involvement in public health programs can improve population health and promote primary health care in Hong Kong. The integration of chiropractors into district health centers and other initiatives will provide safer and more cost-effective options for the treatment of functional problems and chronic pain. Chiropractors should participate in policy makers' attempts to create a sustainable health care system that meets Hong Kong's long-term health care requirements.
