Previous history with chiropractic

ORIGINS

The history of chiropractic in Hong Kong dates back to before the outbreak of World War II.

With the return of a few chiropractors to Hong Kong, the chiropractic industry began to organize.

First Chinese name: 脊醫

The Chinese name for chiropractic and "chiropractic doctor" has reached a consensus.

Chiropractors Registration Ordinance

With the promulgation of the Chiropractors Registration Ordinance, chiropractors began to be legally registered in Hong Kong. The legislation gave chiropractic legal recognition as a formal profession in the healthcare system.

According to the Chiropractor Registration Act 428, only chiropractors on the Register of Chiropractors can practice chiropractic and use the legally recognized Chinese title "Chiropractor" and the English title "registered chiropractor"

The Association was born

The Hong Kong Practitioners Chiropractic Association was founded in January 2000 with the aim of promoting chiropractic services in Hong Kong.

A group of people (members of the Hong Kong Chiropractic Association) used their authority to forcibly change the original chiropractic professional code without consulting and obtaining the consent of the majority of chiropractors practicing in Hong Kong. As a result, current chiropractors in Hong Kong may be prosecuted if they disclose the diseases they treat and their identities to the public.
