About Chiropractic
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a medical system independent of traditional Western medicine. It specializes in the treatment, prevention and diagnosis of pain and dysfunction caused by the nervous and musculoskeletal systems, especially the spinal and pelvic systems, using scientific treatment methods.
Chiropractor's Scope of Care
The most common problems treated by chiropractors include neck and shoulder pain, arm pain, back pain, knee and ankle pain, and sciatica. In addition, chiropractors also treat pain caused by pregnancy and childbirth, as well as muscle and bone problems caused by sports injuries, traffic accidents, and occupational causes.
The Medical Purpose of Chiropractic
Dr. David D. Palmer, the famous father of chiropractic neuroscience, brilliantly explained the true meaning of chiropractic neuroscience:
…diseases are mainly caused by the disturbance of the relevant nerves at the critical point of the intervertebral foramen.
Dr. David D. Palmer, a chiropractor, linked the pathogenesis of the disease to the relevant nerves and their corresponding vertebral joints, and named it subluxation.
Modern chiropractic therapy is based on the concept of restorative spinal joint injuries (mild displacement of the spinal joints) to treat the widespread pathological mechanisms of the human body. Although modern chiropractic therapy does not claim to be a holistic or comprehensive therapy, it not only emphasizes the concept that biomechanical imbalance can cause imbalance in the musculoskeletal system, but also does include the concept that biomechanical imbalance can cause diseases in other systems of the body. The mechanism of chiropractic therapy is to restore the normal mobility of the joints, aiming to promote the balance of the human body.
